Jane Lynch, the antagonistic Sue Sylvester on the hit show “Glee,” is hosting the 63rd Annual Emmy Awards in September, according to EOnline. The site reported that Lynch is, “tickled pink to be hosting the Primetime Emmys on Fox”.
On the Emmy website chairman and CEO of Academy of Television Arts &Sciences, John Shaffner, said, “When our host has comedic, dramatic and musical talents — as Jane proved in last year’s opening number — we know it’s going to be fun for us and for the audience at home!”.
The excited Lynch has had her share of the spotlight in hit comedies such as “40 Year Old Virgin” and “Role Models” as well as her two year stint in the Emmy nominated, “Glee.”
According to Yahoo!, she got her first taste of acting as part of the Steppenwolf Theatre Company in Chicago. The 50-year-old actress grew up in Illinois and started getting attention after her role as Carol Brady in “The Real Live Brady Bunch”. She got her first real break on television in 1988 on the comedy series “Vice Versa”.
According to IMDb, in 1993 she began experimenting with television and has been a part of 73 different shows to date. Some shows include a part in “Party of Five”, “Dawson’s Creek”, “Family Guy” and “Reno 911”. As far as films are concerned she has been equally successful starring in 65 films including “The Fugitive”, “Sleepover”, “Talladega Nights”, and “Julie & Julia”.
The actress is also known for her singing abilities taking part in five different soundtracks.
She has one Golden Globe under her belt for Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role in a Series for and she also won an Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series, both awards were for her part in the show “Glee”.
