Dog Rescued from Roof in Bay Shore

Bay Shore Fire Department firefighters were called to rescue a dog stuck on a roof Monday morning, in an odd twist to the classic story of a cat stuck in a tree

Rosie, a mid-sized gray mutt, escaped the watch of an unidentified homeowner who was pet sitting the pup and jumped out of a second-floor window and onto the roof of the house.

The four-legged aerial performer was on the roof for approximately two hours before being saved by firefighters Michael Ippolito and Tom Komoroski.

“Our first concern was it was a very steep roof, so we didn’t want her to get scared and run down, possibly slip and fall,” Komoroski told CBSNews.

After a frightening ordeal, Rosie survived her high-altitude scare and is back on level ground.
