The Odd Couple
Presented by The Sarah Grace Foundation for Children With Cancer. Inc., on June 24 and June 25. The fun and family-oriented show is based on Neil Simon’s Broadway play about two men – one a neat freak and the other a slob – attempting to share an apartment despite their lifestyle and housekeeping differences. Performances will take place in the auditorium of Maria Regina RC Church in Seaford at 7 p.m. on both days. Tickets are $10 per person and proceeds will benefit the Sarah Grace Foundation, an all volunteer, 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation dedicated to improving the quality of life of children with cancer while at the same time offering comfort and support to their families. The Gilbert & Sullivan Light Opera Company of LI will present performances of Gilbert & Sullivan’s The Sorcerer at 8 p.m. at Cluett Hall at St. Paul’s, 295 Stewart Ave., Garden City. The production features a cast of 25 performers and the critically acclaimed, 18-piece Gilbert & Sullivan Light Opera Orchestra. Tickets are priced at $25 adults; $20 students and seniors. Additionally, two children under the age of 12 will be admitted free when accompanied by an adult who has purchased one full-price ticket. The show will feature over 80 artisans both days selling hand crafted jewelry, fiber, stained glass, original art, turned wood, clothing, floral arrangements, gourmet foods, ceramics, handmade soaps, lotions and more. New creations will be introduced for the summer and each artisan will be present to answer questions or customize orders. Michelle, the Artisan Gourmet, representing her company Sweet Silver Lining Desserts will be back with recipes and tips on baking gourmet style. Free Breast Cancer Support Groups
The Adelphi NY Statewide Breast Cancer program is offering new support groups. There is no cost for any group; however pre-registration is required. All groups meet at Adelphi University School of Social Work, Garden City. For information or to sign up, call Sandi Kafenbaum, LCSW, 877-4314, or the Breast Cancer Hotline at 800-877-8077. Groups are as follows:
•Women with breast cancer, an evening group will meet weekly for 8 weeks on Tuesdays from 7 to 8:30 p.m., tentatively beginning on July 5.
•Daytime group for women with breast cancer will meet weekly for 8 weeks on Thursday mornings from 10 to 11:30 a.m., tentatively beginning on July 7.
•Group for women with metastatic breast cancer will meet weekly for 8 weeks on Thursday afternoons from noon to 1:30 p.m., tentatively beginning on July 7.
•Monthly knit and talk group for women with breast cancer will meet from 2 to 3:30 p.m. on July 12 and Aug. 9.
•Other groups for teens, couples, spouses/partners, and men with breast cancer are available upon request.

Stroke Support Groups
Stroke Life Society is a community organization of survivors and co-survivors in the pursuit of living and helping others. A stroke can be very isolating. •Anxiety and Depression Group, a free self-help group for anxiety, panic disorder, depression, OCD and other nervous fears now meets every Thursdays at 8 p.m. at the Presbyterian Church, corner of Chester Ave. and New Hyde Park Rd. Through the Recovery International process, members learn to manage stress, panic, anxiety, depression, anger, irrational fears, phobias, compulsions, obsessions and other emotional or behavioral problems. Members also learn how to face and manage psychosomatic symptoms such as heart palpitations, dizziness, shortness of breath, sweats, fatigue, headaches, numbness, chest pressure and sleep problems. All group leaders are trained lay volunteers who have experienced some type of difficulty with an emotional problem and practice the Recovery International method of self-help. •Zonta Club of LI, member of Zonta International, a worldwide service organization with a local club. Members help advance the status of women and are involved in many community service activities. The name Zonta is word taken from the Sioux and stands for honesty, trust, inspiration and the ability to work together for service and understanding.
