Coheed and Cambria bassist Michael Todd was arrested and charged Sunday with armed robbery of a Walgreens pharmacy in Attleboro, MA, just hours before his band was set to perform.

According to the New York Times blog, the bassist, whose Nyack, N.Y., band was scheduled to open that night for Soundgarden, allegedly entered the Massachusetts Walgreens at around 1 p.m. and showed a pharmacist a note he typed on his cellphone that claimed he had a bomb. He then demanded bottles of OxyContin.

After receiving six bottles of the high-dose painkiller, Todd allegedly took a cab to the Comcast Center in Mansfield, MA., where Coheed and Cambria was scheduled to perform as the opening act for fellow progressive rock band Soundgarden, reported the New York Times.

Officers reportedly tracked the cab to the Comcast Center where they arrested Todd before the show and charged him with armed robbery and possession of a controlled substance. According to the Toronto Sun, Todd was being held on $10,000 bail.

Coheed and Cambria played without him.

CBSNews.com reports that the 30-year-old bassist is scheduled to be arraigned Monday in Attleboro District Court.

The band’s website reportedly states that the tour will continue, and Todd will be replaced for the remainder of the tour.

Coheed and Cambria is a progressive rock or neo-progressive rock band that was formed in the mid-1990’s and gained national attention by the early 2000s, reported the Washington Post. They are one of several bands taking part in Soundgarden’s reunion tour, and their music has been featured in the video game Guitar Hero as well as in the trailer for the 2009 animated film “9,” reported IGN. They have released five studio albums.
