Congratulations to 13 year old Jack Sherbal of Oyster Bay, who took third place honors in the 13-15 age group in the 8th Annual Heart & Sole 5 Kilometer Run through the streets of Plainview on Sunday, July 10.
Jack crossed the finish line at the Plainview-Old Bethpage Middle school in 22 minutes, 42 seconds.
There were 365 finishers overall. The event was managed by the Greater Long Island Running Club, with the entire net proceeds going to improve patient care at Plainview and Syosset Hospitals. Dr. Alan Mensch, senior vice president of Medical Affairs for Plainview and Syosset Hospitals, served as the director of the event.
