The Baltimore Ravens just gave quarterback Joe Flacco another weapon to battle with in the AFC.

The Ravens acquired wide receiver Lee Evans from the Buffalo Bills on Friday for a fourth-round draft pick. The move gives Flacco a veteran receiver to play alongside Anquan Boldin.

The addition of Evans, comes after the Ravens released Derrick Mason—who later signed with the New York Jets—and tight end Todd Heap last month.

“He’s a quality veteran receiver who stretches the field and gives us significant downfield presence,” Ravens general manager Ozzie Newsome said, the Associated Press reports. “He’s the type of person you want on your team. He brings leadership and maturity to the locker room.”

In seven seasons with the Bills, Evans racked up 377 receptions for 5,934 yards and 43 touchdowns. Evans’ best year came in 2006, when he caught 82 passes for over 1,200 yards.

With Evans on the team last year, the Bills went 4-12, good for last place in the AFC East. Although fans of the team might be upset over the move, Bills general manager Buddy Nix told WKBW News in Buffalo that the team has several “promising” young receivers he wants to develop, when asked why he traded the talented wideout.

“There was a lot of interest in Lee and you could understand why,” he told WKBW. “He’s a good player and has done a lot of really good things here. He’ll add to Baltimore. I think it’s a good opportunity for him. They’ve got a one receiver (Anquan Boldin) and he’ll probably move right in.”
