Tom Waits ‘Bad as Me’ Single And Track List Released

Tom Waits released a new single, “Bad as Me” on iTunes today, August 23.

It comes as his first new solo material in seven years and follows 2004’s “Real Gone” which was produced by Waits and his wife Kathleen Brennan.

Waits also revealed that he is releasing a new album with the same title that will include 13 songs as well as a deluxe edition that will include 16 songs.

The album will be released on October 25 and is now available for pre-order, according to Spinner.com.

Waits, 61, is best known for his distinctive voice and growl and also his mix of blues, poetry and ballads that have been made famous in the form of cover versions. These include “Jersey Girl,” “Ol’55” and “Downtown train.”

A busy year for Waits, who was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame earlier. He joined Neil Diamond, Alice Cooper, Darlene Love, Dr. John and Leon Russell, who were also being honored.

The ceremony was televised on March 20 on Fuse and included a performance by Neil Young and Waits. According to the Associated Press, Waits humored the crowd by talking about himself, he said, “They say that I have no hits and that I’m difficult to work with. and they say that like it’s a bad thing.”
