“The Oyster Bay Rough Riders U12 travel team finished first place in the Long Island Rough Riders Kick-Off Classic held at Peter Collins Soccer Park in Plainview on Aug. 6,” said coach Manny DeFreitas. The boys finished first after defeating two Long Island select teams. The boys played real hard despite being short-handed, as some of the team were unable to make it and some players got injured during the day.
“The team was led in scoring by Harrison Treble, who led all scorers with four goals. Manny DeFreitas, Anthony Reilly and Keith Cassar all scored one goal each. The mid-field was led by Dennis Mejia, Jack Wieboldt, Sahill Yadav, and Peter Bivona. The Defense was led by goalies Michael Mullen, Zachary Ubertini and defenders Owen Zahradnik, Misael Yanes and Nick Zucconi.
“The boys look forward to their upcoming fall season and playing in the Covanta Cup Tournament the weekend of August 27,” said the coach.
