Oyster Bay Boys Named National Lacrosse All Stars!

Nicholas Orlowski, Thomas Reynolds and Tyler Reynolds, all of Oyster Bay, have been named 2011 Middle School National Lacrosse All Stars. They competed against 70 other boys to be selected to represent Long Island in the 2011 National All Star Lacrosse Academy and National Lacrosse Classic held in Germantown, Maryland during July 1 to 4.

The National Lacrosse Academy and Classic brings the top middle school and high school players in the country to one venue where regional teams compete to be the 2011 U.S.A. Champion. The program was directed by Ron Caputo, assistant coach at Duke University, NCAA Division I Lacrosse. The four days consisted of instructional position clinics, informational break-out sessions and team games. Instruction and team play were led by NCAA college lacrosse coaches and post collegiate players.

Team Long Island was undefeated, competing against Illinois, Tennessee, Texas, Missouri and New Jersey. The team faced Pennsylvania in the championship, coming out on top, 8-6, making Long Island the Middle School National Lacrosse Champions!

In September, Nicholas Orlowski will be a freshman at Oyster Bay High School; Thomas and Tyler Reynolds will be freshmen at St. Anthony’s in Huntington.
