Actress Daryl Hannah was one of 100 people arrested during a Washington D.C. protest on Tuesday.

Hannah was in D.C., protesting Keystone XL Pipeline when she refused to get off the sidewalk and police promptly cuffed her.

According to Huffington Post, over 500 people have been arrested since August for a sit-in protest outside the White House. And Hannah wasn’t the only famous face, on Monday, NASA’s James Hansen was arrested.

According to Business Financial Post, Hannah screamed, “Stop the Keystone pipeline,” and “No to the Keystone pipeline.” She also commented about Obama saying that she thinks he will suffer politically if he allows the project to go through and that he does not need to compromise but instead make the right decision.

The pipeline is planned to run from Canada to the Gulf of Mexico and is awaiting approval from the White House.

A major blow to the protesters came this past Friday when the State Department released its final environmental assessment of the pipeline and said that it would have “no significant impact” on natural resources along its planned route. Reportedly, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton will make a final decision on the project by the end of the year.

While the project would create thousands of jobs, those who oppose it say it would threaten the environment by increasing greenhouse gas emissions.
