Sunday, Nicki Minaj and Rihanna debuted their latest single, “Fly” during the MTV VMA pre-show.

The video has since gone viral and has collected over three million hits.

As MTV points out, the two have joined other such singers who have used the end of the world themes in their videos. The two appear looking glamourous as ever catwalking through airplane wreckage and in one scene, Minaj even fights off ninjas.

“I wish today it will rain all day/ Maybe that will kinda make the pain go away/ Trying to forgive you for abandoning me
/ Praying but I think I’m still an angel away/ Angel away, yeah strange in a way/ Maybe that is why I chase strangers away,” sings Minaj in “Fly.”

As Minaj sports an array of wigs, including a pink one, Rihanna appears with her signature red hair, singing, “I came to win, to fight, to conquer, to thrive. I came to win, to survive, to prosper, to rise, to fly, to fly.”

“The song itself is a very inspiring record and when I did it with Rihanna I just thought this screamed girl power,” Nicki told Capitals Kevin Hughes.”So I wanted to paint a picture of the end of the world or the end of something and then life being breathed back into that.”

The “Fly” video was shot back in January and was directed by Sanaa Hamri, reported MTV.

Friend Katy Perry, tweeted her excitement over “Fly,” “@NICKIMINAJ yo! I watched Fly last night and it is beautiful.

Minaj made bigger news last month when she experienced a nipple slip on Good Morning America.
