Actress Stacy Dash has decided to leave hit show “Single Ladies.”

According to EW, Dash played fashion store owner Val on the VH1 network’s first scripted series.

Both Dash and VH1 have given their input into the matter, both deying the rumors that Dash was fired.

In Dash’s statement she sites location as the reason– The show is filmed in Atlanta while Dash and her family’s main residence is in L.A.

Dash’s statement reads, “I truly enjoyed playing Val on ‘Single Ladies’, but I have decided to leave the show. I have to be back in LA with my children right now and the ‘Single Ladies’ shooting location makes that impossible. I wish VH1 the best of luck with the show and in maintaining the strong fan base we developed in season one.”

VH1 confirms that Dash left on her own in a statement.

“VH1 respects Stacey’s decision and her commitment to what she feels is best for her family. We thank her for all of her hard work in making ‘Single Ladies’ a success right out of the gate, and we wish her nothing but the best in her future plans,” read the VH1 statement.

Dash is best known for her role in “Clueless.” She’s also notable for being the cousin of Damon Dash of Roc-A-Fella Records fame.

Dash has two children, son, Austin and daughter, Lola from previous relationships. Dash has been married three times and her most recent relationship made headlines in 2010 when she filed a restraining order against spouse Emmanuel Xuereb.
