Madonna proved to be quite the diva when a fan handed her a flower she didn’t like.
It was at the start of the Venice Film Festival during a press conference for Madonna’s movie W.E., when she got handed a hydrangea by a fan and simply says, “Thank you.” But Madge didn’t really appreciate the hydrangea.
The smiling Madge puts away the flower and turns to her side to say, “I absolutely loathe hydrangeas” and, “He obviously doesn’t know that.”
Since then, her rep reportedly issued a statement that read, “She’s entitled to like any flower she wants and she didn’t want to hurt the feeling of the hydrangeas of the world … No disrespect to the hydrangeas lovers of the world but she prefers different types of flowers.”
Just this August, Madonna turned 53. The singer is currently dating 24-year-old, Brahim Zaibat. While promoting her film, she gave praise to her two ex-husbands (her first husband was actor Sean Penn and her second was director Guy Ritchie).
“I am and was attracted to very creative people, which is why I married Sean Penn and Guy Ritchie, two very talented directors,” she said. “They both encouraged me as a director and as a creative person to do what I did, and they were both very supportive.”
This week, Ritchie, who has two sons with Madonna, 11-year-old Rocco and an adopted Malawian son David Banda, shared news that he welcomed a baby with his model girlfriend. Madonna reportedly sent a bouquet of flowers to congratulate the parents.
