Missoni’s line for Target proved so successful, the retail giant has enlisted its next famous designer.

Today, Michelle Obama favorite, Jason Wu, made headlines when he was announced as the next Target designer—He will be designing a line for Target this spring.

The 29-year-old designer will be creating a limited-edition collection for the discount retail giant. Much like Missoni’s, Wu will reportedly be creating women’s wear and handbags “all for a great price.”

His collection is set to hit Target stores February 5, 2012.

Target’s launch of a limited-edition Missoni line earlier this month was considered super successful—The store’s website crashed due to the influx of visitors almost immediately after it was released to the public.

Target just launched a 400-piece Missoni collection earlier this month and not only did mass amounts of people flock to the store, so many people tried logging on to Target’s website, it crashed. Target later issued a statement and said the company was working to get the site back up—The site was down for hours.

The Missoni collection included clothing, housewares, a bicycle and a line of shoes with items ranging from $2.99 to $599.99.
