Obituary: William Korchowsky

William Korchowsky, of Farmingdale, passed away at age 91 on Sept. 27, 2011. Husband of 60 years to Kathlee. Father of Susan Bower (James) and Jean Mendolia. Grandfather of Andrew William Bower. Predeceased by his siblings Nick, John, Steve, Mike and Rose. Uncle of many nieces and nephews. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1939 to 1960. After retiring from the military he was also employed by Grumman Aerospace and later worked as a safety inspector for the NYS Department of Labor. Arrangements were made by Arthur F. White Funeral Home. Cremation was private. Memorial Mass was held Oct. 1 at St. Thomas Episcopal Church. His remains will be placed at LI National Cemetery, Pinelawn, at a future date. Donations in William’s honor may be sent to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
