Boy,12, Arrested After Driving Construction Truck

A Seaford boy was charged with Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle Saturday after he allegedly drove off in a construction truck.

According to police, a 12-year-old boy, who suffers from autism, was reported missing during the day on Saturday. At around 5:00 p.m. the boy allegedly found an unlocked construction use carry-all vehicle with the keys left inside in Levittown. He entered the vehicle, started it and began driving. He was involved in two separate auto accidents with unoccupied parked cars on Carnation Rd. before stopping on the front lawn of 41 Carnation Rd.

No injuries were reported. The boy was charged with Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle and was released from police custody on an appearance ticket to his father. He is due in Family Court on Monday, October 17.
