Growing older is a pleasure when you get to enjoy the company of great friends while staying in shape at the same time. These 10 Long Island Women Seniors come from all different Long Island towns and backgrounds but what they all have in common is their passion for tennis. They are proud to announce that through Sunday, Oct. 16 they will be representing Long Island and the USTA Eastern Division, at the National USTA 4.0 Senior Championships held annually in Indian Wells, CA.
A once in a lifetime achievement, the road to Indian Wells begins in May when all USTA Senior teams on Long Island play each other for the opportunity to play off against other USTA Regional Champions at Sectionals held in September in Albany.
Soaring to the top, winning 14 out of 15 courts, the Long Island Ladies left their opposition in the dust!
The Long Island Senior 4.0 Team represents Syosset Sportime and is led by Katrina Clifford from Huntington. Her team members are Julie Barnola (Farmingdale), Janine Buss (Port Washington), Tiki Choladda (Huntington), Mona Giovanni (Brookville), Laura Graves (Huntington), Debra LaMountain (Forest Hills), Rhonda Levy (Roslyn), Sharon Melville (Syosset), and Arlene Pickus (Plainview).
