No tickets are required. Seating is limited and on a first-come first-served basis. For directions phone: 248-7363. This visual journey illustrates the monumental paintings of the Depression Era and the support given to thousands of artists by ourcountry’s W.P.A. (The Works Progress Administration was a relief measure established in 1935.) Some of the best scenes of our nation were created in the heart of the Great Depression. Observe the works of the Regionalists and the Social Realists: Thomas Hart Benton, Ben Shahn, John Steuart Curry, Reginald Marsh plus many more who left us a treasure trove of history recorded. These artists painted dust bowl landscapes, simple barns, the New York Bowery, industrial complexes and crowded ghettoes as they crossed the country.
