This weekend rumors were swirling that basketball player, Matt Barnes and actress Eva Longoria were dating after the two were caught having dinner together.

Today, Longoria clears things up and shoots down the rumors. She took to her Who Say account and posted, “First Jessica Simpson, now this. Once again, press gets it wrong, Matt Barnes and I are not dating!”

“We are doing a charity event together for Padres and Athletes vs. Cancer. Why is the truth never the headline?,” read the post.

According to Ace Show Biz, a representative for Eva, also commented on the rumors saying, “Eva and Matt are friends and are working together doing charity work for Eva’s Padres Contra El Cancer. She was at the dinner amongst her other friends.”

Eva Longoria and the LA Lakers player were spotted having dinner at II Mulino in New York Thursday night.

It’s the second time the two have been spotted together. On October 16, Longoria posted a photo to Twitter of herself with Barnes and George Lopez partying at Club Nikki in Las Vegas.

Reportedly, Longoria is still dating Penelope Cruz’s younger brother, Eduardo. Previously, Longoria was married to basketball player, Tony Parker, whom she divorced amid rumors of his infidelity.

Earlier this month, Barnes announced his split with the “Basketball Wives L.A.” star through an emailed statement saying, “I’d like to address the rumors surrounding mine and Gloria’s relationship.”

“We have reached the difficult decision of ending our relationship and will be going our separate ways at this time. We will work together to raise our sons and wish each other only the best,” the statement read. In recent years, the couple called off their engagement and Barnes was arrested on suspicion of domestic violence, which the couple both denies. The charges were eventually dropped.
