On Dec. 10, the New York Islanders will be hosting a special evening to support the non-profit, Literacy Nassau. Those attending as part of this group will get a chance to see the NY Islanders play the Pittsburgh Penguins with seats that are significantly discounted. You can sit downstairs for $45 (face value $85) or upstairs for $25 (face value $45). All those in attendance as part of this group will also get the opportunity to bring their skates and skate on the Nassau Coliseum ice after the game ends. And those who may not choose to skate can also have the opportunity to have their photos taken on the ice as a part of the group. There will also be NY Islander goodie bags for the kids.
Portions of the proceeds will go to Literacy Nassau. Their mission is to open doors to opportunity and success for adults in our communities around Nassau Country who seek help with reading, writing or speaking English. Their focus on adult literacy education promotes new hope and opportunity. You can learn more about Literacy Nassau at www.literacynassau.org.
