On Friday, Oct. 21, the Division Avenue Girls’ Varsity Soccer Team clinched the Nassau County Conference 1 Title. The Blue Dragons finished the regular season with a 11-0-3 record. This is the first time in program history that the girls have won four consecutive conference titles. It is also the first time in program history that the Lady Dragons were seeded #1 for the county playoffs.
Leading the way for the Dragons is a very talented group of underclassmen: Sophomores Kim Beattie, Miranda Pedroza, and Ariana Weingrad. All have played valuable minutes this season. Beattie and Pedroza play the side defensive backs and are part of a defense that has recorded nine shutouts this season. Weingrad has contributed to a potent offense this season by recording five goals and two assists. The Blue Dragons will open the playoffs at home against Glen Cove.
