All Music to Host Holiday Food And Toy Drive

Both locations to partner with Long Island Cares on Saturday, Dec. 10 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. to help the less fortunate

On Saturday, Dec. 10, please join Long Island Cares (Harry Chapin Food Bank) for a unique holiday food and toy drive from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. A live performance and a visit from Santa are in store at All Music, located at 397 South Oyster Bay Road in Plainview at 1 p.m. Simultaneously, Long Island Cares and The New 94X Radio will be at All Music located at Rock-n-Roll University 531 Route 111 in Hauppauge.

People are encouraged to bring both non-perishable food items and new, unwrapped toys; Long Island Cares estimates there are over 300,000 LIers hungry – which includes nearly 118,000 children.

“It’s always important to give back to the community, but at this time of season I find it to be especially necessary to make sure we don’t forget those less fortunate than ourselves,” said Guy Brogna, owner of All Music Inc. “That’s why we are extremely excited to be working with LI Cares on this event, to try and make a real difference this year.”

Long Island Cares, which was founded by Long Island native and Cat’s In the Cradle singer Harry Chapin, serves 600 soup kitchens, food pantries and shelters on Long Island. They successfully distributed over 6.1 million pounds of food, school supplies, pet food, personal care, baby products, fresh produce, coats, toys and other materials in 2010 alone.

The person who makes the largest food donation – in pounds – at either location will win a brand new Martin DC16-GT Guitar and case (retail price $1450) courtesy of All Music Inc.

Every toy donation gets a raffle ticket for a prize at both locations. Long Island’s own D’addario String Company will provide free strings and other giveaways at both All Music locations. At All Music’s Plainview location, there will be a visit from Santa and a performance by Long Island based female supergroup Hazel Moon. At All Music’s Rock-n-Roll University Hauppauge location, 94X Radio will be on hand playing hits for Generation X and handing out great giveaways from their Wheel of Prizes.

Representatives from Long Island Cares will also be on site at both locations that day with a tent, information table and van. For more information on LI Cares, please visit http://www.licares.org or call 631-582–FOOD. For more information on All Music INC. go to http://www.allmusicinc.com.
