The New Hyde Park Fire Department turned its entire firehouse over to raising money for the Wounded Warriors project.
The event included a delicious dinner donated by Rich Sharvin and Kenny from the New Hyde Park Diner, located at Hillside Avenue and North 2nd Street and a chance to win any number of “live” auction donated items by local merchants.
The fundraiser, under the direction of Tom Smith, John Waldron and Ed Powers was a huge success and one day next week there will be a caravan going to the various venues to drop off the many items and gift cards in an effort to brighten the holidays of those wounded soldiers, sailors, marines and airmen, brave heroes all, who will not be with their families at this time.
