Anyone tired of shopping yet?
Friday, of course, was Black Friday, Saturday is Small Business Saturday and in two days we have Cyber Monday. The shopping craze just won’t end.
Cyber Monday, however, seems a little less nerve-racking since there will be no lines, or fights over the last item in the store, the only thing people will have to worry about is switching screens on their computer when their bosses come walking by on Monday.
And consumers are already hitting the Internet trying to discover where they can find the best deals.
On Friday, Amazon released a list of hot items they will be selling on Cyber Monday along with their new tablet—the Kindle Fire.
“Our customers love Cyber Monday – it was our peak day last year. Great deals don’t end on Black Friday,” Sally Fouts, of Amazon.com, said in a statement. Fouts noted that Amazon’s first-ever tablet, the Kindle Fire, is already the best-selling item on Amazon. By pricing the tablet at $199, Amazon is trying to take a bite out of Apple, who continues to dominate the tablet market with the iPad.
Some Amazon deals include: Xbox 360 bundle for $199, Sony Cybershot DSC-HX5V 10.2 MP Digital Camera: $199, Pentax K-5 Digital SLR (Body Only): $999 and Nokia N8 (Unlocked): $299.99 (save $249) along with other deals.
Amazon said more than 13.7 million items were ordered last year on Cyber Monday. Just to put that in perspective, that’s 158 items per second, according to Amazon.
Walmart is also trying to get the word out early for their “Cyber Week” event, which starts on Sunday and goes through Friday, Dec. 2.
Some deals Walmart shoppers can find online include a Toshiba 32” LCD HD TV for $249, Xbox 360 bundle with a 3-month Xbox live card for $319, along with other deals.
The retail giant said it is offering more than 250 online-only deals this year.
