Webster defines scrooge as a “miserly person.”
People don’t really enjoy a “miserly person,” especially during the holiday season. And while this is the season of cheer, giving, enjoying time with family, there’s some people/businesses/natural disasters that may have acted like scrooges this year.

We don’t mean anything against those who made this Top 10 list, we’re just pointing out things that some people might not be too happy about.
Layoffs? Those stink. Power outages? No thanks. Scandals? Nobody has an appetite for cheaters. Economy? Well, if “it’s the economy, stupid!” then why are things not improving around here?
You probably get where we’re going with this one.
We would gladly write about tree lightings, house decorations and holiday traditions, but they’re going to have to wait. There’s always some bad with the good, and here’s the bad. Sorry Long Island, we might have some scrooges around here.
