12642 198580223950 90601348950 3271549 5596127 nThis year’s New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival has just announced their lineup, building excitement for the coming festival.

Jazz Fest  is the annual two-weekend celebration of Jazz music and New Orleans culture.

Jazz Fest is held during the day from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Fairs Grounds Race Course during the last weekend in April and the first in May.

“This spontaneous, momentous scene—this meeting of jazz and heritage—has stood for decades since as a stirring symbol of the authenticity of the celebration that was destined to become a cultural force,” reads the NoJazzFest.com website.

The festival has been around since 1970 and was reportedly founded by the New Orleans Hotel Motel Association. It has since, become a popular festival and has received many honors, including being named the Festival of the Year four times by Pollstar magazine.

The festival is best known for it’s musical guests. Over the years, the festival has hosted many internationally renowned guests, including Aretha Franklin, Miles Davis, Bob Dylan and Ella Fitzgerald.
