A woman fatally struck a parked tractor trailer early Sunday while driving along the Long Island Expressway.
According to police, at 3:30 a.m., a 27-year-old woman from Bayside was driving a sedan westbound on the Long Island Expressway in Old Westbury. Her vehicle struck the rear of a tractor trailer that was parked on the shoulder of the roadway near exit 39, just east of Glen Cove Road.
The driver was pronounced dead at the scene was later transported to the Medical Examiners Office.
There were no other injuries reported and there is no criminality at this time.
