Cops: Woman Suffers Medical Emergency While Driving In Carle Place

A woman went into cardiac arrest while driving her car and was later pronounced dead at a local hospital.

According to Nassau County police, Saturday at 6:05 p.m., a 68-year-old woman from Brooklyn was driving her sedan on Voice Road in Carle Place when she suffered what appears to be a medical emergency and became incapacitated. She was unable to operate her vehicle, and subsequently crashed into a row of bushes finally coming to stop against a steel parking sign post.

Officers rushed to the scene where they found the woman, who was the only person in the vehicle, in cardiac arrest. They initiated CPR but failed to revive her. Nearly an hour later, the victim was pronounced dead at a local hospital.

No other vehicles or pedestrians were involved in this incident.
