The New York Giants were so excited that Eli Manning was returning to practice that the team tweeted out the message twice.

The double-tweet is probably a error on Twitter’s part, but the organization and its fans are definitely breathing a sigh of relief that their star quarterback is back to practice one day after suffering from what was described as a “stomach bug” on Wednesday.

The Giants said on Wednesday that they were confident the illness that forced the workaholic quarterback out of practice was only a “24-hour” bug, and they hoped he would be able to return to practice for the team’s upcoming matchup with the San Francisco 49ers in the NFC title game.

His teammates weren’t overly concerned with the development on Wednesday, even after offensive starters had to live with backup QB David Carr taking snaps while Manning was gone.

“If there’s one guy that can miss a Wednesday, it’s No. 10,” guard Chris Snee said, according to the New York Daily News. “I’m pretty sure he was here Monday and Tuesday and has the whole game plan down.”

Said defensive end Dave Tollefson: “They probably have some kind of special virus-killer that only Eli Manning can use. I’d be sick for two weeks. He’ll be good [Thursday].”

And he was right.
