J.K. Rowling has finally broken out of her “Happy Potter” slumber.

It seems that the author of the mega-popular boy wizard novels is so energized about her return to the book world that she’s even tweeting, something she’s done only nine times in two years.

“As you may have heard, I have a new book out later this year,” she tweeted to her 900,000 followers, who haven’t gotten much in return for their Twitter loyalty over the years. “Very different to Harry, although I’ve enjoyed writing it every bit as much.”

Yeah, we heard, and its all people in the book world are talking about. The news has her fans and fellow book writers wondering what story Rowling will be telling next.

The title, date and genre of her first adult novel were not released.

The publishing company, Little, Brown, said details of the book will be announced later this year, but people are getting anxious, and her eager fans are dying to discover what new adventure Rowling will take them on as she prepares for a new chapter in life—one that doesn’t include Harry and the gang.

In a statement released by Little,Brown, Rowling said the new deal gives her the “freedom to explore new territory.”

“I am delighted to have a second publishing home in Little, Brown, and a publishing team that will be a great partner in this new phase of my writing life,” she added.”

Philip Jones, a deputy editor of trade paper The Bookseller, told CNN that her new editor is known to work on crime thrillers. He added, “The rumor is that it’s a crime thriller, and that it could be set in [her adopted home of] Edinburgh.”

Others are fueling that speculation, with some of Rowling’s fellow authors also wondering if she will add a crime thriller to her impressive list books from the “Harry Potter” series.

“For me, quite simply, it is a personal and professional dream come true to be working with J.K. Rowling,” said David Shelley, publisher of Little, Brown.

“She is one of the best storytellers in the world, and I am looking forward enormously to helping bring her new novel for adults to her fans and admirers, and to introducing her writing to new readers the world over.”
