It has only been days since the funeral of the late singer, Whitney Houston. But, the rumor mill has been quite busy discussing who we be chosen to play Houston in a new biopic about the singer.
According to the Daily Mail Clive Davis will be in charge of the project. No one is certain who will be picked to play the role of the late diva, Whitney Houston, but Jennifer Hudson, Vivica Fox and Jordin Sparks are on the short list to play her. As of now, however, Rihanna is thought to be the front-runner.
But if this is a role that Ri-Ri truly wants, she’s going to need to watch her back. Another songbird has her eye on the role of playing Whitney Houston: Brandy Norwood.
Brandy Norwood was Houston’s co-star in the 1997 adaptation of “Cinderella,” where Brandy played Cinderella and Houston was casted in the role as her fairy god mother.
“My dream role would be to play Whitney Houston,” Brandy said to TrueExclusives. Brandy spoke to TrueExclusives just weeks before Whitney Houston had passed away.
Houston’s unconscious body was found submerged in a hotel bathroom the day before the 2012 Grammy Awards.
Brandy Norwood continued, “Of course she would have to sing all the songs. But I would love to play Ms. Whitney. I have her personality down pat, her ‘isms’ down pat. Like no offense ladies, it’s a lot of talented ladies there, but nobody can play Whitney like me. Yes!”
