Rapper Coolio was arrested this past week.

Coolio, whose real name is Artis Leon Ivey Jr, was stopped in Las Vegas March 9 and according to reports arrested on a warrant charging him with failure to appear in court for a traffic ticket around two years ago.

The 48-year-old best known for hit song “Gangsta’s Paradise,” was a passenger in a vehicle that was stopped for a routine traffic violation off the Las Vegas Strip.

According to numerous reports, after police ran his name through the system, they found he had two active bench warrants out for his arrest. Reportedly, he failed to appear on an illegal stop and driving without a license summons in 2010.

He was arrested at around 2:20 a.m. and hauled into Clark County Detention Center.

The rapper was released later that day after posting $5,850 bail.

Surprisingly, he wasn’t the only Ivey in the building. According to the NY Daily News, his 22-year-old son Grtis Ivey, was being held at the same facility. Grtis has reportedly been at Clark County Detention Center since November with offenses including robbery and kidnapping.

According to TMZ, back in November, Ivey allegedly entered a Vegas apartment wielding a gun and forcing the roommate into a bathroom while he and a prostitute named Shantrice Wilkerson stole a safe, 2 iPads, 2 laptops and passports, among other things.

Grtis will reportedly face a judge Monday.
