Charlize Theron joins the ranks of one of 2012’s new celebrity moms!
Congrats on your new bundle of joy, Charlize! But wait, where was the baby bump?
Don’t worry, you didn’t miss anything.
The 36-year-old Oscar winner’s reps announced that she has adopted a baby boy and named him Jackson, as confirmed by The Huffington Post.
Her spokesperson confirmed the adoption in a statement, “Charlize Theron has adopted a child. She is the proud mom of a healthy baby boy named Jackson.”
Theron’s rep did not mention where the child was from, or give any other information.
Jackson is the actress’ first child, who nabbed an Academy Award for 2003’s Monster. She was nominated for another Oscar in 2005 for “North Country.”
The South African born Oscar winner split from her boyfriend, Stuart Townsend, in 2010 after they were together for nine years. She spoke to Vogue magazine after the split, “I’ve never been single. This is the first time in my life,” the actress said. “From the time I was 19, I’ve been in relationships, literally gone from one to the other within a month,” she added.
Her most recent movie was 2011’s “Young Adult.” She will be on the big screen again in June with the movie “Snow White and the Huntsman,” staring Kristen Stewart.
According to MTV she said in an interview, “I feel very blessed to have had a certain amount of success and now I’m reaching the point where I would love to be a mom,” Theron had said at the time. “I know I want to raise a big family and it’s just a question of time , I know I’m ready for that phase of my life.”
It seems that her dreams are coming true! Theron spoke to W magazine back in 2008, “I always knew that I didn’t want to get married. I’ve always known that I’d be a mom from the time I was a little girl.”
