Do your children want to perfect their basketball skills? Would they want to learn new dance techniques? Or maybe they would rather learn some Martial Arts?
On Saturday, March 24, Centro Cultural Hispano’s Youth Group will be hosting its first-ever sports clinic – for free. “One of the goals of the youth group is to teach adolescent youths about the satisfaction of giving back to their communities,” says Cinthia Scavone, the programs director. “What better way to give back to your community than to teach younger kids.”
The sports clinic will start at 6 p.m. and will take place in Oyster Bay’s Theodore Roosevelt Elementary School’s Gymnasium.
Local youths will not only be teaching dance, basketball, and martial arts, but they have also helped organize the event, and will be assisting throughout the night.
Children in grades K-6 are invited to participate in any of the three clinics. Adolescent youths interested in participating in the Youth Group can contact Cinthia Scavone or Adolfo Zepeda at 558-7020, or by email at cchcite@aol.com.
