Piano Recital
Charlie Albright is the winner of the prestigious 2010 Gilmore Young Artist Award and the 2009 Young Concert Artists International Auditions. Born in Centralia, WA, Mr. Albright studied at the Harvard College/New England Conservatory of Music joint program, where he completed his bachelor’s degree as a premed and economics major in 2011. He is now pursuing a master of music degree in piano performance at the New England Conservatory of Music. The recital will be held at 6 p.m. in the Grace Auditorium, Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory, One Bungtown Rd., Cold Spring Harbor. $20. Call 516-367-8455 to reserve seats.

The Thief of Bagdad
Experience a very rare opportunity to see the 1924 silent movie classic The Thief of Bagdad starring Douglas Fairbanks Sr. presented with LIVE theatre organ accompaniment by world-famous theatre organist, Bernie Anderson Jr. Anderson will be performing on Chaminade’s magnificent Austin Morton Theatre Pipe Organ. The program is a presentation of the New York Theatre Organ Society, the Nassau Chapter of the American Guild of Organists and Chaminade High School and is expected to be the family entertainment event of the spring. The silent movie classic will be presented on March 31 in Darby Auditorium at 7 p.m. at Chaminade High School, Jackson Ave., Mineola. Tickets are $12 adults; $10 children and seniors. Art Walk First Thursday
Art Walk features an international spectrum of contemporary artists. Get some artistic inspiration as you visit local art galleries. Other businesses and sites in town will be displaying artwork. Local restaurants will be exhibiting art and are offering a percentage off on meals, wine tastings and more. Live music entertainment is scheduled. Cafes and restaurants will remain open late for dessert and coffee. The evening will begin with Chase Edwards Gallery, 15 E. Main St. (802-0655) and continues at Atelier Gallery, 9 E. Main St.; Art (that matters), 55 W. Main St. (917-769-9921); The Teaching Studios of Oyster Bay, 115 Audrey Ave. (971-597-2404); and The Artist Club Gallery, 29 Berry Hill Rd. will also be open. Art will also be available for viewing at various downtown merchants, including Canterbury Ales, Jack Halyards and Wild Honey. The Oyster Bay Main Street Association office (17 Audrey Ave.) will also be displaying the works of local artists, with refreshments served. Enjoy a guided nature walk on the trails throughout the year from 1 to 2 p.m. at the Hoffman Center Nature Preserve and Wildlife Sanctuary, 6000 Northern Blvd., Muttontown (between Route 106 and 107 – just west of Martin Viette Nursery). U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary Needs Oyster Bay Recruits
The U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla in the Oyster Bay area is recruiting new members. They are needed to assist the Coast Guard in performing Homeland Security missions and to implement the Coast Guard’s many recreational boating safety programs. No experience or boat is required. Guided Tour of Theodore Roosevelt’s Oyster Bay
Join a Park Ranger every Sunday through May 27 on an easy walk through historic Oyster Bay. The walk will highlight the major sites in the hamlet connected to Theodore Roosevelt and his family. The one-hour program is free and begins at 2 p.m. in the Long Island Railroad parking lot at the Oyster Bay station. Wear comfortable walking shoes and dress appropriately for the weather. Muttontown Unitarian Universalist Fellowship
The Fellowship provides an atmosphere of warmth and camaraderie, with talks presented by intelligent enlightening and non-dogmatic speakers who come from the entire spectrum of the Arts, History and Sciences. This is followed by coffee and an informal discussion circle, held in the turn-of-the-18th century farmhouse in a bucolic setting. •Bereaved Parents of the USA. This national self-help support group charters the LI NY Chapter. No dues or fees.
•Locust Valley Garden Club. The Executive Board of the Locust Valley Garden Club invites new members to join. The club meets on the second Wednesday of the month at 10 a.m. at Bailey Arboretum. Some of the committees take care of local gardens, do garden therapy with residents of Jones Manor, make projects with the children of the Grenville Boys and Girls Club and decorate local libraries at holiday time.
