Ever wonder what it was like to be best friends with Katy Perry? Well, now the world will have that rare chance and go inside the life of the California girl.

Katy Perry has joined the ranks of Justin Bieber and will be releasing a concert documentary chronicling her “Teenage Dream” tour in 3D later this year.

“This film, you’re going to see it from my best friend/ buddy perspective, you’re going to see exactly what I mean and feel and think about everything,” Perry told MTV. “That tour was so life-changing to me. I learned so much, I went through so much along the way.”

The movie will hit theaters in July.

“My concert documentary is coming out Fourth of July weekend,” she told E!. “Go and see it and be a firework.”

Perry has released a teaser in recent days.

The teaser shows Perry as a child and then goes to show her developing as a singer and turning into the successful singer she is today, performing at one of her sold out concerts for her hit “Teenage Dream” album.

“The atmosphere I grew up in was 100 percent Christian. I started singing in church. I never really had another plan,” noted Katy in the beginning of the teaser.  The clip ends in good humor, as Perry playing Kathy in “TGIF” music video.

According to MTV, the film was directed by Dan Cutforth and Jane Lisitz, the same folks who made Bieber’s documentary possible.

Justin Bieber previously released a similar movie called “Never Say Never.”

“Never Say Never” was released in 2011 and followed Bieber’s rise to fame from his young days in Canada to his worldwide tour and the countdown to his Madison Square Garden concert.
