Mystery Picture Still a Mystery

Mike Rich and Tom Hogan Know Oyster Bay

Lifelong Oyster Bay resident Mike Rich came to the rescue and identified the mystery-mystery picture in the March 22 issue of the Enterprise Pilot. Mike said, ‘It’s the top of the senior citizen’s center. I think it was designed by Ralph Ottaiano.” He is correct, although the current name of the organization is the Life Enrichment Center of Oyster Bay.

Mike had great news and a reason to be joyous. He will become a grandfather in late July. Congratulations to the family! Being a grandparent is a job everyone envies.

We heard from another good friend of the Enterprise Pilot for the mystery-mystery picture. Tom Hogan, Esq., former Oyster Bay town councilman, called to say, “It is the cupola on top of the Doubleday Babcock Senior Center. I remember when that was built.” As for the mystery photograph in the March 29 issue he said, “I’m on it. There is flagstone and brick, as a clue in the picture.” Mr. Hogan is correct.

Actually for readers of this issue of the newspaper, the general location of the photograph is in one of the stories. We hope that is enough of a hint for the careful reader!
