It was just a few weeks ago that Leah Messer was in the tabloids for the supposed end of her engagement to her fiance Jeremy Calvert. However, according to The Daily Independent, the couple is now married. The wedding took place at a small chapel in Catlettsburg, Kentucky.
Leah originally hails from Elkview, West Virginia but chose the Kentucky chapel which lies over 7o miles from her home so she could have a private ceremony, except for all the cameras that were rolling of course.
This is the second marriage for the 19-year-old who has not even been divorced from her ex-husband Corey Simms for a year. Leah’s two daughters Aliannah and Aleeah were in attendance at the wedding, along with 15-20 other close friends and family.
The Reverand of the chapel, Marty Gute, said an MTV producer called him and asked if he would sign a waiver allowing the television network to film in his chapel.
“When I asked what was going on, they said it was for the Leah Simms wedding, and that name didn’t ring a bell at first,” Gute said. Gute was not aware that Leah was a celebrity reality star on the network, but his wife and daughter were well aware of Leah and her two twin daughters.
Since the couple wanted to keep their wedding private, for now, producers asked that Gute’s daughter did not take to the internet about the nuptials between Jeremy and Leah.
“I think they wanted to keep it out of the news, but the producer said he knew it would hit Facebook soon,” Gute said. “He asked my daughter not to tweet about it, though.”
Though tabloids have been reporting that Leah’s relationship with Jeremy is satisfactory at best, she insisted to Us Weekly that Jeremy is “The One,” “We have a really good connection. It’s different from Corey and my relationship, because we were kinda like forcing it… With Jeremy, you know when you’re supposed to be with somebody and you’re not.”
