We are approaching another election of school board trustees and vote on the school budget.
The Herricks Community Coalition has worked diligently over the years to foster and celebrate ethnic and religious diversity to help promote harmony in our community. We also believe that freedom of speech is an important basic right guaranteed by our Constitution to enable each individual in our country to express his or her thoughts and opinions.
It is our firm belief that everyone in a democracy is entitled to their own opinion, and should feel free to express such opinion without the fear of reprisals and the resultant discord in the community.
The members of the Herricks Community Coalition want to maintain the civility and respect for every individual in the community that we have worked so hard to achieve.
Therefore, during the upcoming school board election campaign and budget vote discussions, we hope everyone will be respectful of the diverse opinions and rights of all in the community.
Please remember to vote on May 15 at the Herricks Community Center between 7 a.m and 10 p.m.
The next meeting of the coalition will be on May 21, 2012 at 7:30 p.m. in the Herricks Community Center Room No. 208.
