Caspar Babypants To Perform At Long Island Children’s Museum
Ballew, otherwise known as Caspar Babypants, will be stopping by LICM for a special solo performance of his kids music while he is in town from his home in Seattle. This will be his first performance in the LICM Theater. The show is designed for children three years and up. Tickets cost $4 with museum admission, $3 for LICM members and $8 for theater only.
His music style is simple sing-along music for baby brains and parent ears. Using old nursery rhymes and folk songs as inspiration Ballew writes songs that are full of snappy, acoustic, happy and intelligent music that will make the whole family want to sing. Ballew isn’t interested in tackling subjects like ABCs, 123s, and teaching kids to dance. He wants his music to be a calming influence, not just for babies and toddlers, but also for their nervous and anxiety-ridden parents.
Ballew’s first brush with the kiddy set came in 2002 when he recorded and donated an album of traditional children’s songs to the nonprofit Program for Early Parent Support a few years back. Having a son and daughter himself, he enjoyed making the record but didn’t think about it again until 2008 when he discussed working on a children’s book with his with his girlfriend, artist Kate Endle. Since 2009, he has released four CDs and gained thousands of fans across the country.
His review says it best – “If you are looking for kids’ music that doesn’t drive you insane and that your kids will love, then be sure to pick up a Caspar Babypants CD.”
