Jessica Simpson and fiancé Eric Johnson are welcoming their first child, Maxwell Drew Johnson to the world!
Happy birthday Maxwell! She was born on Tuesday morning in Los Angeles weighing 9 pounds 13 ounces, Us Weekly confirmed. Now we know why Jessica’s belly was so huge. Any child born over 8 pounds is considered a big baby and little Maxi was almost 10 pounds!
“Eric and I are elated to announce the birth of our baby Maxwell Drew Johnson 9 lbs. 13 oz. 21 3/4,” Simpson wrote on her website Tuesday. “We are so grateful for all of the love, support and prayers we have received. This has been the greatest experience of our lives!”
Us Weekly quoted a source close to the couple as saying Maxwell got her middle name from her maternal grandmother, Tina Simpson. Drew is Tina’s maiden name, pretty cute.
Jessica, 31, and Eric, 32, got hot and heavy quickly. They were only dating for six months before they announced they were engaged in November 2010, Us Weekly reports.
The fast lovers had postponed setting a wedding date until Maxwell made her glorious arrival. Now that she’s here, we can expect to see a Simpson-Johnson wedding any day now! However, Jess has never been in any real rush to officially tie the knot with her NFL beau, she told Jimmy Kimmel in March that Johnson “feels like my husband already.”
This wouldn’t be the first marriage for Jess, she was married to Nick Lachey of 98 degrees back in 2002. The two even had a hit reality show, Newlyweds, but they weren’t able to work out their marital problems and split a short time later in 2005.
Simpson announced her pregnancy in October 2011 in a post on Twitter saying, “”It’s true! I am going to be a mummy!”
Congrats on “mummy-hood” Jess and enjoy your little bundle of joy!
