While growing up it was common for a kid to explain that their favorite dinosaur was the Tyrannosaurus Rex.

Maybe it was because the T-Rex scared the bejusus out of everyone, or they just thought its name was just that darn cool.

Well one Nebraska man thought that T-Rex was so neat that he decided to legally change his name to…you guessed it: Tyrannosaurus Rex.

Yep. Not kidding.

Move over Metta World Peace and Chad Ocho Cinco. And anyone else who had the guts to change the name their parents gave them.

The man, Tyler Gold, 23, told a judge on Monday that he wanted to change his name because it was “cooler.”

“Also, as an entrepreneur, name recognition is important and the new name is more recognizable,” he said, according to York News Times.

Maybe he was a little suspicious, so the judge asked Gold if he was trying to change his name to evade the law or creditors. Gold, we mean, Rex, said that wasn’t true.

He just wanted to change his name.

So Gold went through all the proper channels and when the hearing was over, his name was officially changed to Tyrannosaurus Rex Joseph Gold.

Now, we all know what you’re asking yourselves right now: Is this the sign of the apocalypse? Probably.
