Over The Hill Gang Softball Report: May 16, 2012

Zwanger Pesiri Radiology’s (ZP) rookie Sean O’Flynn is the latest winner of the Over the Hill Gang “Player of the Week” honors. O’Flynn had four hits, including a bomb to left field that cleared the bases. He had five RBIs for the night. In the field, he made all the plays at third base in ZP’s 26-18 win over Paradox Cafe.

ZP needed O’Flynn’s bat and plenty of others in a back and forth slugfest. The team finally found some breathing room with a six run in the 7th inning. John Hernandez, Marc Fischer, Russ Graham, Bino Reverberi, Rich D’Amico and O’Flynn all slammed consecutive two-out, RBI hits.

On the night, Jerry Mazza went five-for-five with three RBIs. Hernandez had four hits and a pair of RBIs. Graham had three hits and five RBIs as ZP finally found its hitting shoes.

Pete Mendelson, Fischer and Vinny Foppiano had three hits while John DeFalco and D’Amico rounded out the attack with two hits each. Fischer got the win filling in with LaCorte’s Family Auto Repair defeated McCourt and Trudden Funeral Home 22-12.

LaCorte had a barrage of hits with Joe Dileo blasting two homeruns and Vinny Inzirillo also had a great night, five-for-six with two doubles. Keith Burtis supplied stellar pitching while Tony LaCorte had a great night of hits and didn’t strike out this week. The team really pulled together with a great night of hitting and fielding.
