At Long Island Children’s Museum Plaza Productions Presents Blue’s Clues
June 9 and June 10 at 11 a.m., 1 and 3 p.m.

Join Blue and Steve on an interactive musical adventure based on the popular Nickelodeon® television series, “Blue’s Clues.” On stage, Blue and Steve lead the audience on a clue-based journey, in search of the most spectacular place of all. This quest takes them through Storybook Forest, where Blue and Steve meet The Three Little Pigs, Goldilocks, The Big Bad Wolf and other characters from classic fairytales. Then travel to outer space in search of the most spectacular place, discovering planets and other celestial wonders along the way. When they discover the final clue, Blue and Steve learn that aside from the surprise-filled world of theatre, home is the most spectacular place of all. Visitors to the Long Island Children’s Museum will see the exciting array of workshops, exhibits and theater programs they’ve come to expect at Long Island’s well-attended cultural institution. All activities will be held at the Long Island Children’s Museum, 11 Davis Avenue, Garden City. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Museum admission: $11 for adults and children. New Hyde Park Knights Of Columbus Golf Outing

The New Hyde Park Knights of Columbus Golf Outing will be held at the Clearview Golf Course. Signup is from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. with a shotgun start at 1:30 p.m. Eighteen holes of golf includes a shared cart, hamburgers/hot dogs with beer/soda before tee-off and food and beverages on the fairway for three hours. After golf at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 1000 Marcus Avenue, New Hyde Park, there is a buffet dinner, open bar, door and raffle prize drawings for a fee of $130 per golfer. Sarah Grace Foundation To Present An Unrehearsed Night Of Improv

The Sarah Grace Foundation For Children With Cancer, Inc. will hold its second annual theatrical fundraiser, “Unrehearsed Night of Improv,” at 7 p.m. on June 1 and again on June 2 in the Hicksville Methodist Church Social Hall, 130 West Old Country Road, Hicksville. The fun and family-oriented show will be similar to the popular improvisational comedy television show Whose Line Is It Anyway?” Tickets, which are $12 per person, can be purchased at the door or in advance by visiting www.TheSarahGraceFoundation.org or calling The Sarah Grace Foundation at 433-9745. Proceeds will benefit the Long Island-based nonprofit corporation dedicated to helping other children and their families facing the financial and emotional challenges and hardships brought upon by childhood cancer.

New Hyde Park Runners Club To Hold 35th Run/Walk

New Hyde Park Runners/Walkers Club will sponsor its 35th Run/Walk for the benefit of the Nassau County Firefighters “Operation Wounded Warriors.”  Special bibs will be issued to all runners and walkers so they can honor an individual they know who served or is serving this Country. The event will be held at the Denton Avenue School, 1050 Denton Avenue, in New Hyde Park,. This run will feature three separate races: Championship 8K (4.97 miles) Race begins at 9 a.m. 2 Mile Fitness Walk starts at 9:05 a.m. 1/4 Mile Children’s Run begins at 8:15 a.m. The 8K (4.97 miles) race is part of the Grand Prix Series sponsored by Long Island Track and Field and is considered one of the top races on Long Island. The course is certified and the race is professionally timed. Tech Shirts will be given to the first 500 pre-registrants. Awards will be awarded to the top three in each 5 year age group. Special awards will be distributed to fire, police and military teams. The many raffle prizes include a bicycle, flat screen TV and IPad. There will be free refreshments after the race. The races will be held rain or shine. Michael Amante To Perform At NYCB Westbury Theatre

Michael Amante, affectionately known as the “people’s tenor,” will appear in concert at the NYCB Theatre at Westbury at 3 p.m. Tickets for the event can be purchased online at www.ticketmaster.com, www.livenation.com, or by phone at (800) 745-3000. The concert will feature special guest, Ric Mango and an appearance by Amante’s duet partner, Marissa Famiglietti. A portion of the proceeds from this concert will benefit the Achilles Freedom Team of Wounded Veterans and DAV Chapter 76 National Amputation Foundation, Inc.

Following the public meeting that was held on May 21, the Redistricting Committee will hold a work session on June 4 at 2 p.m. at Clinton G Martin Park in New Hyde Park, corner of New Hyde Park Road and Marcus Avenue. Resurrection/St. Aidan To Hold Half-Price Thrift Shop Sale

Starting on June 7 the Thrift Shop sponsored by both Resurrection and St. Aidan Church, is having a half-price sale on all items in the shop except jewelry. This sale will run the entire month of June.
