Michael DeMartino Scores Highest In Pitch Hit And Run

Pitch Hit and Run is a national competition that is run by Aquafina. It is called Aquafina Major League Baseball Pitch Hit And Run. Pitch Hit and Run tests three aspects of baseball/softball – pitching, hitting and running. There are four levels of competition – local, sectional, team championship and national finals.

Michael DiMartino, who is 10 years old, participated in the first level, which is the local scope, that was held in New Hyde Park – all children from ages 7 – 14 years were invited to compete.

Michael scored the highest in his age division, then all the champions at the local level advance to a sectional competition. He  went to Massapequa to compete and again won all-around champion in his age division.

He is now eligible to go to the Team Championships, which are held in either Yankee Stadium or Citifield. Michael is waiting to find out if he placed Top Three in New York and in his age group to move on.

Michael is currently playing on two baseball teams, New Hyde Park Little League and New Hyde Park Blue Devils 10U travel team. Michael’s dad is the manager of both his teams.
