Picture 4Disney has just released a new trailer for upcoming flick Oz The Great And Powerful, exciting fans everywhere.

The trailer was released during comic-con this week and gave fans a first look into the highly-anticipated prequel. The movie is set to hit theaters March 8, 2013.

“Kansas is full of good men” actor James Franco, who plays Oz, says in the new trailer. “I don’t want to be a good man, I want to be a great one.”

The movie comes as a prequel of the classic 1939 film The Wizard Of Oz, which is remembered in the trailer too. The preview pays homage to the original film by opening in black and white as Oz is seen taking to the air in a hot air balloon and being whisked into a tornado, like Dorothy did.

The black and white shots end once Oz lands in his new fantasy world, where he finds himself among alien creatures and three witches, Glinda, Theodora and Evanora. Like the famous actor who takes the role of Oz, the witches are also played by A-list movie stars. Glinda is played by Michelle Williams, Theodora is played by Mila Kunis and Evanora is played by Rache Weisz.

“Are you the great man we’ve been waiting for?” asks Glinda in the trailer before the trailer closes with a green hand scratching across a table.

The movie was directed by Sam Raimi.

The original film is still one of the best known movies of all time. The fantasy film starred Judy Garland and Ray Bolger and was based on the 1900 children’s novel The Wonderful Wizard of Oz by L.Frank Baum.

It followed Kansas resident Dorothy Gale who ends up in Oz after her home is carried away in a tornado. She then goes on a mission to find Wizard of Oz, who may be able to help her get back home.
