The NEXT Reality Show Taping at The Paramount

Paramount - Huntington, Long Island - Long Island Press - Volume 9, Issue 39A music competition new reality TV show that is set to debut in August will be taping on Wednesday evening at The Paramount in Huntington.

The program, called ‘The NEXT,’ will feature Gloria Estefan, John Rich, Nelly and Joe Jonas. It is stopping in Orlando, Baltimore, New York, Chicago, Dallas and Los Angeles, training young musicians to compete with one another along the way.

“The energy and the vibe of the place paired with a New York audience is going to make for a very special experience,” Jordon Cohen, the show’s producer, said of chosing The Paramount as a location to shoot one of the contests.

The artists are not amateurs, but well-known musicians who perform at concerts and night clubs in their hometowns and have fans of their own.

Each star will spend 72 hours preparing one of the musicians for competition night, when they will face off with the chance to represent their city in the finals.

The winners will then go head-to-head in the finals on stage with the winner receiving a recording contract from Atlantic Records in New York City.

Applications to be a part of the audience must be submitted to Gotham Casting for approval. Seating at the Paramount on Wednesday will be on a first-come, first-serve basis.

The host will be Allison Hagendorf, who has hosted Fuse Top 20 Countdown.

The show is produced by Dave Broome, the creator of the The Biggest Loser, Queen Latifah and Shakim Compere and is scheduled to debut Aug. 16 on the CW-11. The Paramount episode will air Aug. 30.
