Long Island Lady Astros Win First Place In National Junior

In its inaugural year, the Long Island Lady Astros brought home two championship trophies in National Junior Baseball League’s summer season. The Lady Astros finished atop the 12U American Division with a record of 12-1, and then went on to win the championship series. After winning in the semifinal 4-2 over the Road Warriors they faced team Nitro in a best-of-three championship series. The Lady Astros easily took the first game over team Nitro 7-3. The Lady Astros then sealed the championship in an amazing come-from-behind victory over team Nitro in game 2. Trailing 10-6 with two outs and nobody on base in the bottom of the seventh inning, the Lady Astros mounted a 5-run rally to walk off with an 11-10 win.
