New Hyde Park resident and Herricks High School graduate Lou Bernardi has been named as the pitching coach for SUNY College at Old Westbury’s baseball team. Bernardi joins Old Westbury after serving as an assistant coach last season with the New York Institute of Technology, his alma matter.
During his baseball career at Herricks High School, he was the team’s captain for two seasons, received All-New York State, All-Nassau County and League MVP honors, and also was named as Herricks Male Athlete of the Year during his senior year. He is a member of Herricks High School’s Athletic Hall of Fame.
