Frank Joseph Higgins III, 63, died October 2, 2012 at the VNA Hospice House in Vero Beach, FL. He was born in Oyster Bay, and split his time between Vero Beach and Oyster Bay for the past 22 years.
Mr. Higgins was married to his loving wife Valerie Simkins-Higgins for 30 years until her passing in 2009.
Frank received the Purple Heart for his service in the Vietnam War. He enjoyed fishing, NY Giants football and most of all spending time with his family.
Survivors include his son Christian Shaw Higgins of Sarasota, FL., daughter Erin Brooks Higgins of Manhattan, brothers Billy Higgins of Oyster Bay, Bobby Higgins of San Francisco, CA and sister Cindy Higgins of Bayville.

A wake will be held at DeVine Funeral Home, 293 South Street, Oyster Bay, on Nov. 2 from 7-9 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Gertrude’s Church, 28 School Street, Bayville, on Nov. 3 at noon. An online guestbook is available at strunkfuneralhome.com
